“This plot has been owned in its entirety by Olivier since 1996. The soil intriguingly is both rich and stony, reflected in the finished wine. White - gold in colour, this 2002 vintage has a stylish nose, white flowers, grilled buttered citrus and creamy apple fruit all vying for dominance but in total harmony. The palate mirrors this, complemented by a chalky, mineral palate, stone fruits, nuts and an underlying richness, culminating in a long, rather honeyed finish. From 2005.”
Corney Barrow - April 2003
“The best wines of vintage 21002 according to France’s leading wine publication. Nous avons beaucoup aimé’ highest rating. This well-structured Chassagne has character while being powerful and fat.”
Revue du Vin de France Les meilleurs 2002 - June 2003
“The smoked oak-scented 2002 Chassagne-Montrachet Abbaye de Morgeot is plush, fat, and medium-bodied. Soft pears and apples are interspersed with spices in its long, pure character... It is an excellent, fruit-forward offering. Drink it over the next four years.” 88-90 points.”
