“At the southern end of the Chassagne-Montrachet commune, there are iron-rich limestone soils, which are more often home to pinot noir. Here Olivier’s own vineyard, planted with Chardonnay, produces a very particular style. Rich yellow gold in colour, this has a lovely nose, reminiscent of tarte tatin, with fresh citrus zest. The palate is rather more serious, with a clear mineral layer to keep fruit in check. This is perhaps a more masculine style, which will develop well in bottle. From 2008.”
