According to the archeologic discoveries the peolple of Chassagne presumed that this parcel was cultivated by the Romans and gave it therefore the name of La Romanée.

The exposure of the vinyard is south, south-west and without any doubt one of the most distinguished premier crus from Chassagne expressing an extreme delicacy and a remarquable ageing potential.
